Heart Tea

The central area for blood flow in our bodies is a good place to explore how plants unfurling in hot water can support our bodies, minds and spirits. The heart has been a big focus lately, with friends and family working through physical troubles there, and me and almost everyone I know being with the emotional and spiritual work the heart invites. Pat, my dear step-mom, first inspired me to work on this blend for Heart Tea. I wanted to make something both comforting and stimulating, with sweetness, sour, and spice. Also essential was the color of the brew once brewed - swirls of purples, reds and pinks - I could almost call it Rose Cloud tea. Heart Tea suits it though. I'm still working on the proportions, but here are the ingredients of my Heart Tea blend:
  • cinnamon / canela
  • licorice
  • jamaica / hibiscus
  • rose petals -  red petals for amazing color
  • rose hips
